Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu

Our representative will be at the airport to pick you up and take you to the hotel. After reaching the hotel, you will be introduced to our guide and will be provided a short briefing about the trek. Our guide will check your trekking equipment and recommend if you need to buy/rent trekking gear in Kathmandu.

Day 02

Fly to Lukla - Trek to Phakding (2,650 m)

Wake up early in the morning for the Twin Otter flight to Lukla. You can see panoramic mountain views from the aircraft. Within 25‐30 minutes you will land in Lukla. Meet Sherpas and yaks/porters for baggage and then begin the first day of trekking to Phakding located near the river Dudh Koshi (literally, white like milk).

Day 03

Phakding to Namche (3,440 m)

Continue walking along the bank of Dudh Koshi River, passing small villages and many suspension bridges. Walk uphill really slowly to reach to Namche, the administrative centre of Khumbu region. It is a marketplace for the people of Khumbu and also for trekkers to buy equipment. Overnight stay in Namche.

Day 04

Acclimatization Day in Namche

Today is the acclimatization day in Namche. To adjust with the high altitude, you will spend one more night in Namche. Hike to Khumjung, crossing Syangboche airport. On the way, visit Hotel Everest View for outstanding views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Ama Dablam and many more. Visit Sir Edmund Hillary's school and hospital at Khumjung and Khunde and walk down to Namche.

Day 05

Trek to Tengboche (3,840 m)

Trek towards Tengboche, going downhill to the river and cross bridge. Again, the trail climbs steeply at first, then makes a gradual ascent through forests and Mani stones to reach Tengboche Monastery, the religious site which sits at 3,870 m. It provides the most magnificent view of the Himalayan giants; Khongde (6,187 m), Tabuche (6,542 m.), Amadablam (6,812 m), Everest (8,848.86 m), Nuptse (7,861 m), Lhotse (8,516 m), Kangtega and Thamserku.

Day 06

Trek to Dingboche (4,410 m)

In the morning, you can see great views of the Himalayan range from Tengboche. Descend to Debuche through the forest of birches conifers and rhododendrons. Crossing Imja Khola (river) on a steel bridge, the route ascends to Pangboche. The goal for today is to reach to Dingboche, en route to Island Peak. The views are great from Dingboche. You can see Island Peak, Makalu and another face of Ama Dablam.

Day 07

Acclimatization Day in Dingboche

Another acclimatization day in Dingboche. Go for a short hike near the Nangakarshang hill for adjusting with the high altitude. See beautiful views of Lhotse, Makalu and Cho Oyu. Also admire Cholatse and Taboche peaks. Overnight stay in Dingboche.

Distance: 3 km; Time: 5 hours

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner and boiled water.

Day 08

Trek to Lobuche (4,950 m)

Continue your journey from Dingboche through the high alpine region to the conclusion of Luboche and stay overnight. On the way to Lobuche, cross the glacial frozen river at Thukla and climb up the hill to Lobuche, watching magnificent views of Cholatse, Lobuche, Pumori and Nuptse.

Distance: 6.5 km; Time: 6 hours

Day 09

Trek to Gorakshep (5,264 m) - Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,364 m) - Gorakshep

Each day the trek becomes more exciting, the distance becomes shorter, and you walk slowly due to the thin air and high altitude. You will be able to see Khumbu glacier along the way to Gorakshep. View Mt. Pumori and Nuptse towering above. Take some rest at Gorakshep before trekking to Everest Base Camp (EBC). The expedition crew will welcome you with tea/coffee; you will also meet Indian Mountaineering Foundation’s (IMF) expedition members. Marvel at the small mountain city (several expedition tents) at EBC and explore Khumbu glacier too. After having lunch with the expedition team, trek back to Gorakshep and stay there overnight.

Day 10

Kalapathar (5,545 m) - Pheriche

Very early in the morning (3 am), climb up to Kalapathar to view the summit of Mt. Everest. It is the best place to photograph the panoramic view of Mt. Everest and its range. Most of the pictures of Mt. Everest are taken from Kalapathar. After having lunch in Gorakshep, descend to Pheriche.

Day 11

Tengboche

Trek towards Tengboche and stay there overnight.

Distance: 12 km; Time: 5 hours

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner and boiled water.

Day 12

Monjo

Today trek towards Monjo, enjoying the downhill parts which can be quite long. After passing Namche Bazaar on the way, you will reach Monjo and stay there overnight.

Distance: 16 km; Time: 6 hours

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner and boiled water.

Day 13

Lukla

This is the final and last walk to the mountain. Prepare for the flight to Kathmandu. This is the last and memorable day in Khumbu. Spend the night celebrating with Sherpa friends and imbibing their culture.

Distance: 12 km; Time: 5 hours

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner and boiled water.

Day 14

Fly to Kathmandu

Today, leave Lukla and fly to Kathmandu. Our representative will be at the airport to receive you and transfer you to the hotel. Spend the day at leisure in Kathmandu.

Meals: Breakfast.

Day 15

Free Day in Kathmandu

It is a rest day in Kathmandu. You can walk around Thamel (tourist hub and market) in the early evening. It is the main tourist attraction where you have various shopping options. It is restful to walk around Thamel. We can arrange half-day sightseeing in Kathmandu (Pashupatinath & Boudhanath) if you wish. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner in a Nepali restaurant with cultural shows.

Day 16

Departure

Final departure to your home country. Our representative will be at the hotel to help you transfer to the airport and give you Khada for good luck.
